HARVIA – the name of the founder himself is Founder Tapani Harvia. The story of the brand stems from a plane crash in 1947, Tapani Harvia fell into an icy lake so he had to go to a sauna to help warm up, around which time he came up with the idea. The idea was to start making vaporizers to help realize everyone’s great goals when going to the sauna.

Tapani Harvia made the first wood-burning HARVIA fumigator for his own use in 1950. And in the late 1950s, HARVIA started production, averaging about 100 vaporizers per year.
